1. How long have you been eating a Zero Carb (No Plant Foods) diet?

My wife and I have been eating a Zero Carb diet since 1998. My boys have been eating Zero Carb since they started eating solid food.

2. What motivated you to try this way of eating? Weight? Health?

I experimented in the mid 1990’s with Vince Gironda’s steak and egg diet and with Rheo Blair’s cream, eggs and protein powder diets. I knew that I could manage just fine on a zero-carb diet. I used these diets to put on muscle and lean out a bit. Rheo Blair and Vince Gironda were well known in the bodybuilding community for their unusual methods in training and nutritional advice.

I haven’t been steady on here, but lots of moving parts and trying to take the necessary steps to big things!

1. Moved. Closer to all the people, places, i need to be and see on a more consistent basis.

2. Booked flights & hotel to Arnold Sports Festival aka the olympics of lifting and so many other amazing things that require incredible strength. There will be so much for me to absorb here both personally and professionally for the future.

3. Started a 10 week plan from T-Nation. Don’t hold me to all 10 weeks, but so far so good. Week 1 is just about complete. I was sore and challenged, but can definitely do more so I’m hoping the progression aspect will push the limits.

Lets talk homemade breakfast versus ‘to-go’. We all know it’s better to make things at home, but how much healthier is it really? If you only look at calories, 410 vs 328 is less than 100 calorie difference! And when getting ready for work in the morning, odds are, the easiest option wins. 82 calories sounds like NBD at that moment, but is it? Decide for yourself, based on the northeast’s beloved Wawa Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sizzli versus my own “Bigg Egg n Turkey Bacon Breakfast” (descriptive, isn’t it?).
